Christmas event set for Dec. 1

North Arkansas College invites the public and all employees to attend a free evening of Christmas festivities featuring the popular Elf on the Shelf.

Festivities occur from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. on December 1 in the FedEx Freight Atrium located in Northark’s Center Campus in downtown Harrison.  At 7 p.m. there will be a performance of Christmas music.  Cookies and hot cocoa will be served.

Northark academic and technical programs and services will be there to showcase programs and answer questions about admissions, financial aid, job placement and more!  Open registration is underway and students who visit all program booths will be entered in a drawing to win $250 cash!  The drawing will be held at 7:45 p.m.

The centerpiece of the event is a three-story Christmas tree that will be adorned with lights and candy ornaments.  Families are invited to pose for photos with the Elves in front of the Christmas tree.  Attendees can even take “Elfie Selfies” if they are so inclined!

Everyone knows the Elf on the Shelf works with Santa to tell Santa who has been nice and who has been naughty.  Santa will be in town gathering wish lists from children.  Earlier in the evening local residents and their children are invited to visit McDonald’s and have their pictures taken with Santa from 5-7, then come visit the elves at Northark for more pictures, music and cookies.

Even if the weather is warm outside, weather experts are predicting a 100% chance of snow inside the FedEx Freight Atrium!  Because the elves are from the North Pole, they have to keep cool while they visit the families in Harrison.  Don’t miss this fun event brought to you by the North Arkansas College Foundation and North Arkansas College.
