Equity Bank (formerly known as Community First Bank) and Magness Toyota have become the National Championship Sponsors of the NJCAA Division II Women’s National Basketball Tournament.

The national tournament will be held March 21-25, 2017 in Pioneer Pavilion on the south campus of North Arkansas College in Harrison, AR. and is expected to draw around 2,000 visitors to Harrison.

The Harrison Convention and Visitors Bureau has agreed to serve as a Tournament Sponsor.

Several years ago, Pioneer Pavilion received a wood floor that enabled Northark to attract and host larger tournaments.

There are 16 teams in the NJCAA Division II for women.

“We are very pleased to introduce these businesses as the National Championship Sponsors, “says Dr. Rodney Arnold, executive director of the Northark Foundation. “They have both had long-standing partnerships with Northark and want to encourage more sports events like this that showcase and draw visitors to our area.”

There’s a lot to prepare for as these teams visit Harrison.  Volunteers and additional sponsors are needed.  Specifically, the college is searching for Team/Honorary Coach Sponsors at $1,000.  Team/Honorary Coaches serve as representatives at the Team/Honorary Coaches Drawing and Luncheon and as ambassadors for Harrison.  They introduce themselves and meet the team when they arrive, sit with the team during games and the Tip-off Banquet, provide mementos, and take their team to eat, tour their business and plan activities outside of the tournament.  Honorary Coaches become very close to their teams, inviting them to their homes for a meal and relaxation.

Team/Honorary Coaches receive advertising in the Tournament Program, a banner in Pioneer Pavilion to be displayed during the National Championship, invitations to the Team/Honorary Coaches Drawing and Lunch, VIP Hospitality Room passes, eight admission tickets for all 26 games, recognition during the tournament, team photos and more.

To volunteer to help with the Tournament or to get more information about sponsorship opportunities, contact Dr. Rodney Arnold at (870) 391-3229 or by email at rarnold@northark.edu.
