Bobby HowardNorthark Athletic Director, Coach Bobby Howard is putting the ladies first.  He’s officially moving from coaching baseball into the women’s basketball coach role, a familiar spot for him.

He’s been coaching the ladies this year, leading them to the NJCAA Division II National Tournament on the home court where they played well and finished 6th in the nation. This is his 11th year coaching women’s basketball, where he holds a 197-126 record.

“I feel like coaching women’s basketball is my calling,” Howard says.  “I’ve got some good recruits coming in next year and I hope we can play in the national tournament again.”

President Randy Esters complimented Howard asserting “Coach Howard did an amazing job helping the Lady Pioneers get into the national tournament.  We are very happy he will lead that program into the future and look forward to great achievements for our college and community.”

Howard is the first Northark alumni to come back as a coach at Northark.  “I want to make Northark athletics the best we can be,” he said.  “I love North Arkansas College!”

Northark is searching for a new baseball coach and hopes to have a coach hired by May 1.
