Nominations sought for Future Women of Distinction Scholarship awardees

WOD logoWe are now accepting nominations for Future Woman of Distinction Scholarship awardees.  There are no income limits and all ladies in Boone, Newton, Marion, Searcy, Carroll and Madison counties are potential candidates if they have exhibited the leadership qualities listed below.

The 2019 Women of Distinction luncheon event will be held on June 19 in the L.E. “Gene” Durand Center at 11:30 a.m.

The Women of Distinction Scholarship Committee will be awarding a $1,000 Northark scholarship to female students who have exhibited the following characteristics:

1.    Has provided leadership
2.    By their actions made our community a better place to live
3.    Are unsung heroines working quietly to improve our area
4.    Inspires others
5.    Brings issue to the forefront for the betterment of our community
6.    Works with one or more organizations to bring about positive change impacting the lives of others
7.    Sets a positive example for others to follow.

To apply for the scholarship, complete the Scholarship Information Form and include a narrative about the ways the nominee has exhibited the characteristics listed above.  

Applications are being accepted until June 5, 2019.  Forward all applications to Women of Distinction Scholarship Committee, North Arkansas College, ATTN:  Micki Somers, 1515 Pioneer Drive, Harrison, AR  72601 or by email to msomers@northark.edu.
