Northark has called upon one of its own to be the new athletic director.  Bobby Howard, the men’s baseball coach has been promoted to fill the role.  The position recently became available last week when former athletic director, Stacie Klott resigned to spend more time with family.

Howard graduated from Northark and became the first alumni to coach at the Harrison College.

Howard has 31 years of coaching experience with 12 of those at Northark.  He coached both baseball and women’s basketball his first year at the college.  His second stay with the Pioneers came in the spring of 2016 when he was named an interim coach for eight games, followed by becoming the head baseball coach.

“I am very excited to be back home,” said Howard.  “I am looking forward to an expanded role with more opportunities to get to know the student-athletes, coaches and staff.”

Howard has stayed close to home over the years and is rooted to the success of athletics in this area.

Northark President Randy Esters said “Bobby brings a wealth of athletic experience to the AD position.  I know he’ll build upon the high level of quality and excellence established by Coach Klott.  As a former student, Bobby is a true, home-grown Pioneer and we’re proud he’ll be leading our athletic programs.”
