North Arkansas College Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) continued its long history of earning top spots during competitive events.  Five students placed first or second in their events at the PBL State Leadership Conference in Little Rock, AR on April 1-2 and brought home seven awards, competing against two and four-year institutions.

Notable achievers winning first place in Arkansas were Emma Helmuth in Information Management, Ashley Walker in Justice Administration, Matthew Liggett in Small Business Management Plan, Jacob Woodham in Cybersecurity and Networking Concepts.

Second place winners were Marie Kershaw in Cybersecurity and Emma Helmuth in Retail Management.

The State Leadership Conference is held prior to the National Leadership Conference, which provides various opportunities for leadership development, fundraising, and corporate facility tours for participants.

All five Northark students qualified to compete at the PBL National Leadership Competition in Chicago, IL in June.

PBL Advisor and Business Instructor Janet McMurrin said, “We are very pleased that our students did so well in competition with other college and university students across the state!”
