SGA to host Special Election Forum

North Arkansas College Student Government Association (SGA) will host a special election forum on February 7 to hear the two Republican candidates running for Arkansas Representative District 83.  The forum is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. – 2 p.m. in the John Paul Hammerschmidt Conference Room on the south campus.

Two natives of Marshall, Arkansas, Donald Ragland and Timmy Reid are vying to fill the seat previously held by David Branscum. Branscum announced last November he would not seek re-election and would become the USDA’s rural development director in Arkansas. The special election will be held on February 13.

The newly reconfigured district includes parts of Searcy, Newton, Pope and White counties.

Students, faculty and staff will ask candidates questions with a question and answer session to be held at the end of the Forum if time allows.

The Forum is open to the campus community and members of the public who wish to attend.
