Many students taking College Preparatory classes will be enrolled in lab courses which allow students to progress at their own rate while they receive individualized instruction. The four courses that use this lab setting are Fundamentals of Composition, Grammar, Math , and College Reading Techniques .

Fundamentals of Composition Lab (CP 0901) is required of students enrolled in Fundamentals of Composition (CP0903). This course teaches sufficient grammar, punctuation and usage rules to enable students to write effectively in the Fundaments of Composition writing class. The student works at his own pace to complete the required work.

Grammar (CP 0813) is a thorough review of the essentials of English grammar and sentence structure. It includes extensive practice in writing complete, grammatically correct sentences.

Math Lab is required for students enrolled in Math CP 0613. It gives students practice on the skills they are learning the lecture class. They practice working with whole numbers, fractions, decimals, ratio and proportions, percents, and rational numbers.

College Reading Techniques (RED 1001) is required of students enrolled in RED 1003, College Reading Techniques. It gives students practice in the concepts they are learning in the lecture class, including concentration, recognizing main idea, making correct inferences, and defining words from context.
