The rodeo program at North Arkansas College provides students with an opportunity to practice and compete in the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association. The rodeo program at North Arkansas College has been developed to provide students already possessing experience in rodeo competition an opportunity to take the next step in their rodeo career.

The Regions:

Like the Professional Rodeo Cowboy’s Association, the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association is divided into a number of regions. The North Arkansas College Rodeo Teams compete against other institutions in the Ozark Region. The Ozark Region includes colleges and universities of Arkansas, the part of Louisiana north of the Red River and the Mississippi River, Missouri, Tennessee, Kentucky, Mississippi, Alabama, Michigan, Georgia, Indiana, Eastern Louisiana, Ohio, and Illinois.

The North Arkansas College Rodeo Program will consist of a Women’s Team and Men’s Team.

Prospective Students:

If you have qualified for finals in any of the following rodeo events: bareback riding, tie down roping, breakaway roping, saddle bronc riding, steer wrestling, goat tying, team roping, barrel racing, and/ or bull riding, in any rodeo association and you would like to pursue a college education and compete in college rodeo, please contact coach Sullivan to discuss your opportunities at North Arkansas College: 870-391-3149 or email: lsullivan@northark.edu

If you are an Arkansas resident and have completed the ACT and scored a 22 or higher, you should be eligible for scholarship money. Please complete an application for admission and contact our admissions office: (870) 391-3221 or call coach Sullivan.

If you are concerned about cost, please view our Tuition and Fees and compare the affordability of North Arkansas College to other colleges and universities.

Coach Sullivan recommends you visit with your high school counselor to complete the FAFSA and if you are already out of high school, contact him or our North Arkansas College Educational Opportunity Center: 870-391-3524.

If you have not qualified for finals in any rodeo association, you need to think of college rodeo as any other sport. College football, baseball, softball, and basketball programs do NOT teach students how to play these sports; they make students that have already been successful better.
