Agriculture persists as the largest industry in the world, offering many opportunities to those most prepared and educated in the various fields. Though many courses in the North Arkansas College Agriculture Science Program are related to Animal Sciences, students are provided the opportunity to develop skills in soil and environmental sciences, plant sciences, leadership, communication, and be introduced to the vast world of opportunities so that their lives may fulfill the greatest of their expectations.

   Agriculture Science Laboratory exercises provide students with hands on training for modern livestock production practices, soil and water conservation, as well as plant development and forage quality.

The Agriculture Department at North Arkansas College is devoted to providing students with an education that will prepare them to pursue the immense opportunities in Agriculture related fields.

Students at North Arkansas College are provided the opportunity to develop skills in soil and environmental sciences, plant sciences, animal sciences, systems technology, leadership, communication, and be introduced to the vast world of opportunities so that their lives may fulfill the greatest of their expectations.

    The Agriculture courses at North Arkansas College lead students in to various degree paths. The instructors express the curriculum in methods that offer students the opportunity to gain the highest levels of knowledge; therefore, allowing students to not only apply the knowledge they have obtained but synthesize, analyze, and evaluate the criteria. The courses are developed to provide students with the primary freshman and sophomore level credit hours before transfer to senior institutions, as well as prepare them for various career opportunities.

    In order to expand students’ opportunity in the North Arkansas College Agriculture Science Program various programs have been established. These programs include a National Intercollegiate Rodeo Team, a Collegiate Farm Bureau Organization, Collegiate FFA, and Pioneer Hands Program.

Collegiate Farm Bureau

This organization's main goal is to promote agricultural awareness for everyone. The chapter was formed to give students the opportunity to become involved in Farm Bureau while learning about agricultural issues and policies as well as developing future leaders for the agricultural industry.

The purpose of the North Arkansas College Collegiate Farm Bureau:

• To further communication among agriculture students

• To gain information about the work of a Farm Organization

• To gain information about legislative and lobbying activities

• To keep up-to-date on Farm Bureau policies and activities

• To promote the profession of agriculture related occupations

The North Arkansas College Collegiate Farm Bureau organization encourages members to become involved in the following programs:

• Young Farmer and Rancher program

• Agriculture in the Classroom

• Political Education

• Farm Safety

• Consumer education along with local affairs and other specific informational programs.
