Administrative Support

The Administrative Support track prepares students for careers as administrative assistants and other supporting roles in modern business settings.  Students will learn to operate computers and other office machines, become proficient with common business software, and develop good work and organizational habits.

The AAS in Business Technology (Administrative Support Emphasis) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools & Programs.

Northark offers an Associate of Applied Science degree in Business Administration with an Administrative Support emphasis.   The Associate of Applied Science Degree is designed for employment purposes and it should not be assumed that the degree or the courses in the degree could be transferred to another institution. While a few institutions have recently begun to accept some courses in AAS programs, the general rule is that courses in AAS degrees are not accepted in transfer toward bachelor’s degrees. Students to whom transfer is important should get assurances in writing in advance and only from the institution to which they wish to transfer.

The Administrative Support Certificate Program is a planned and coherent program of classroom and laboratory/shop study at the collegiate level that recognizes the completion of a specified level of competency in an occupational field. The certificate can be applied toward the AAS in Business Administration - Administrative Support Emphasis or to satisfy one of the technical disciplines required for the AAS in General Technology.
