Team Overview

  • The 2016-2017 started the season off in dynamic fashion, winning their first nine games of the season.  Mesa averaged 67.1 points per game in that time span.  But the T-Birds went through a bit of a rough spell during the end of December and beginning of January, winning just one of their next six games.  But Mesa finished the season even stronger than they started, winning 10 of their last 13 games. 

  • Allies Fuller and Quynne Huggins each earned ACCAC DII Player of the Week honors, with Fuller earning NJCAA Player of the Week honors the week of January 15-21.

  • The T-Birds finished the season as the NJCAA’s #7 team, with a 20-8 overall record and a 16-6 conference record.

  • Three players earned Region I / ACCAC DII post season honors, with Tori Lloyd and Quynne Huggins earning All-Region I DII First Team and ACCAC DII Second Team, while Allies Fuller earned a spot on the All-Region I Second Team and ACCAC DII Third Team.

  • Lloyd averaged 13.3 points per game with 4.3 rebounds per game and 3.9 assists per game, which ranked her fourth in the ACCAC.  Huggins averaged 13.8 points per game with 5.9 rebounds per game.  Huggins shot 82.1 percent from the free-throw line, second in the ACCAC.  Fuller averaged 11.6 points per game with five rebounds per game.
