Intramural Kickball

Intramural Kickball Rules student kicking ball

The Team

  • All players must be Northark students.
  • Teams can be made up of 8 players, with a minimum of 6 players required to avoid forfeiting.

The Game

  • All games will start on time. Teams must be present at the scheduled time or they will forfeit.
  • Games will last 7 innings or a maximum of 45 minutes.
  • If a team scores five runs in an inning, that inning will come to an end, even if the team has not made three outs.
  • If a team is ahead by 15 runs after the fourth inning or 10 runs after the fifth, the game will end.

The Rules

  • A coin toss will determine the home and away teams.
  • The pitching team will consist of 8 players on the field and must provide their own catcher.
  • A pitched ball must be rolled on the ground without bouncing more than six inches high. If a pitched ball exceeds six inches high, it is deemed an illegal pitch.
  • Each kicker gets a maximum of 3 pitches. If a ball is kicked foul on the final pitch, the kicker will be called out.
  • A kicker can make an out in the following ways:
  • Striking out after three pitches
  • Fly balls caught in fair or foul territory
  • Forced out at a base
  • Being tagged out
  • Being hit with a ball thrown by the pitching team, unless the kicker is hit in head. Head shots are not allowed, and if a kicker is hit in the head, they will be called safe.
  • Base runners are not permitted to steal.
  • If a ball is overthrown, base runners may advance at their own risk. The ball remains in play and runners can be put out while advancing.
  • Kickballs will be provided by Northark, and both teams must play with the provided balls.
