Pink Out raises funds for cancer research
Bright pink shined all over Pioneer Pavilion during the annual Pink Out game at North Arkansas College. It was the color worn by fans to support awareness for breast cancer research and education.
Northark’s Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) chapter worked collaboratively with Alpena High School to produce the most funds possible for this worthy cause. Alpena High School raised $600 and PBL/Pioneer Athletics raised $1,000. Both groups beamed as the groups presented the two checks to members of the local Claude Parrish Radiation Therapy Institute (ParTI) Board who thanked them for the donation.
Half-time activities included Dr. Jackie Elliott, Northark’s president kissing a guinea pig and recognition of cancer survivors who received flowers and wore Pink Out tee-shirts.
Fundraising activities included the Kiss the Pig fundraiser, t-shirt, luminary and ribbon sales, as well as sponsorship donations.
The event was sponsored by: Alpena High School FBLA, North Arkansas College PBL, North Arkansas College Pioneers, Steven Fowler, CPA, Jamie’s Restaurant, IS – Illumination Station, Claude Parrish Radiation Therapy Institute, North Arkansas Regional Medical Center, T-Shirt Techniques, First National Bank of Green Forest, Northwest Arkansas Area of Agency on Aging, Hudson’s Super Market, Nature’s Wonders and DKS Services.
