In honor of Hammerschmidt’s 80th birthday, which he celebrated Saturday, First Federal Bank of Harrison donated an endowed chair to the Northark Foundation. Larry Brandt, president of First Federal Bank, and his wife, Cathy, who is a member and two-time past president of the North Arkansas College Foundation Board, made the announcement and joined about 180 others attending the dinner in singing happy birthday to Hammerschmidt, who serves as chairman of First Federal Bank’s board.

John Paul Hammerschmidt announcing the creation of the John Paul Hammerschmidt First Federal Bank Endowed Chair in Instruction at North Arkansas College.  The gift to the North Arkansas College Foundation was made in honor of Hammerschmidt’s 80th birthday Saturday, May 4, during the annual Evening on the Plaza Dinner at Northark.

The John Paul Hammerschmidt First Federal Bank Endowed Chair for Instruction is Northark’s sixth endowed chair.
