Ashley Hardaway of Marble Falls knows her business.

The North Arkansas College sophomore was recently elected to serve as vice president of the state Region 1 Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) business chapter, according to business instructor Cheryl Keymer. Ashley, originally from Haynesville, La., was elected among five other candidates throughout the state of Arkansas. "They had more candidates this year in Region 1 than theyıve ever had," she said. The wife of Tony Hardaway is currently vice president of Northarkıs Rho Zeta PBL chapter and is taking 15 credit hours. Ashley plans to graduate from Northark in May with a major in business management. However, she plans to remain at Northark another two years by earning her bachelorıs degree from John Brown University while still attending Northark. Some of her classes will include interactive long distance learning. While not studying at Northark, she drives a hobby class Chevy Camaro with her husband at North Central Arkansas Speedway in Flippin. Her No. 13 car is sponsored by North Arkansas College. "All I do is focus on my family, studying business and racing," she said. "Someday Iım either going to race cars in NASCAR or get in on the business end of racing." "We're extremely proud of Ashley, her campaign manager Susan Reeves and all the PBL members who attended the conference and did an excellent job of representing Northark," said Keymer.
