Northark Awarded EDU Web Address
It’s
official: North Arkansas College has been awarded an “EDU” web site address.
The new address for the college’s web site is
www.northark.edu.
North Arkansas College applied to EDUCAUSE in November of 2001 for
the northark.edu address, according to Larry Stroud, the college’s webmaster. A
sunrise period followed the application. During that time, EDUCAUSE checked to
make sure that there were no other claims to the northark.edu name.
“This new domain name does not affect in any way our daily business
or how someone would access our web site or e-mail,” Stroud said. “However, it
does add to the list of options.”
The college will retain the northark.net and northark.cc.ar.us
addresses. Anyone attempting to access Northark’s web site through those
addresses will be linked to northark.edu.
