Nominations Sought By Northark For
Boone County Pioneer Family Of The Year
The deadline for nominations for the 2001 Boone County Pioneer Family of the Year Award, presented by North Arkansas College, is April 2, according to Dr. Bill Baker, president of North Arkansas College.
The award is presented by the Board of Trustees of Northark to a Boone County family that has made outstanding contributions to the area over at least three generations in one or more of the following fields: agriculture, finance, medicine, education, politics, law, social services, the ministry, business, or industry.
Previous recipients include the Frank L. Coffman, Sr. Family, Ralph Hudson Family, Dr. H.V. Kirby Family, W.S. Walker Family, John Ed Watkins Family, Pleasant Fowler Family, Peter Beller Family, William J. Myers Family, J. Fred Hudson Family, George Hammerschmidt Family, Abraham and Elizabeth (Holt) Speer Family, the L.C. Holt Family, and the George F. McKinney Family. Pioneer Citizen awards were presented to J.E. Dunlap, Jr. and Joe Miller.
