Tim Hill, president and chief executive officer of North Arkansas Regional Medical Center in Harrison, will receive the North Arkansas College Board of Trustees Award Saturday, May 12 at 10 a.m. during the college’s Commencement exercises and Dedication of the Bill Baker Amphitheatre.  The Board of Trustees Award is given to an individual or organization that has made outstanding contributions to the college.  Jim Sprott, chairman of the Northark Board of Trustees, will make the presentation.

“Tim is an outstanding partner and friend,” said Dr. Bill Baker, president of North Arkansas College.  “With his support, Northark and NARMC have developed the North Arkansas Partnership for Health Education (NAPHE), an organization that provides health-related educational services for hundreds of health care professionals and area residents every year.”

NAPHE offers continuing education workshops and seminars for area healthcare professionals and community health education for residents of northern Arkansas.  Originally a local partnership between Northark and NARMC, NAPHE has expanded to a regional coalition that includes 60 participant organizations.  Already in 2001, NAPHE has served over 1,000 people from 112 businesses and organizations.

Hill, who has 20 years of experience in health care financial and operational management, came to North Arkansas Regional Medical Center in March of 1998.  He is president-elect of the Arkansas Hospital Administrators Forum and is a member of the board of directors of the Arkansas Hospital Association.  He is the chairman of the Arkansas Hospital Association Northwest District, and a member of the AHEC Community Advisory Board and the Arkansans for Drug Free Youth Board.  Also very active in local causes, Hill is a member of the Harrison Rotary Club and serves on the board of directors of the Harrison Chamber of Commerce.  Tim and his wife, Tammy, have two children: Tarah, 12, and Tyler, 9.

About one-third of Northark’s graduates each year are allied health majors and North Arkansas Regional Medical Center is one of the largest employers of North Arkansas College students.  Northark’s Commencement will be held at the Baker Amphitheatre on the South Campus of North Arkansas College.  The public is invited to attend the event, which will include dedication activities for the Baker Amphitheatre.
