Adult Education Program

The mission of the Adult Education program is to provide adult learners with the mechanisms to improve their basic academic skills, attain the Arkansas High School diploma, and to transition into higher education and/or the workplace.

Arkansas Adult Education

Arkansas Adult Education provides pathways to higher education through easily accessible centers, staffed with professionals who want you to succeed!  Most centers have extended hours to accommodate those who are working. A GED can open doors to new careers and increase your earning potential.  Additionally, our programs can help you become more fluent in English, math and reading.
G.E.D.

General Education Diploma (GED)

Free GED classes and testing are provided at all of our locations.  Classes are offered to anyone over the age of 16 who is not enrolled in school. To make an appointment to enter the program, call one of the centers listed below.

Brush Up

Brush Up is designed for people entering college or want more training to "brush up" on their skills. These courses are self-paced and individualized to the specific needs of the adults and the training they are seeking.  There are three areas of concentration:

Mathematics Review: Includes review of whole numbers, fractions, decimals, percents, geometry, and algebra.
English Review:  Grammar and writing.
Reading Review: This self-paced, individualized course includes vocabulary building, comprehension improvement,
and critical thinking.

*NOTE:  A test is conducted for each review to help identify specific areas of improvement.

English as a Second Language

This course is for adults 18 years of age and older whose native language is not English.  Students will experience an improved use of the English language. For those seeking help with reading and math, Basic Skills classes are also available. Placement tests are available to help in determining the level of instruction. Students use Computer-assisted instruction using the newest, most effective software. To request more information, please contact one of the Adult Education centers below:
