Dr. Mike Clumpner, Ph.D., MBA, NRP and Co-founder of Threat Suppression Incorporated, will cover the history of hospital active shooter events, hospital workplace violence statistics, perpetrator motive, methods to combat hospital active shooters, and attack actions if an event occurs. In addition, this presentation will review several hospital active shooter events and review lessons learned. Last, the presenter will review numerous studies and data on public safety response lessons learned from active shooter events.

Target audience: Open to nurses, hospital staff, active public safety members, government intelligence analysts, emergency management members, and public/private school administrators from preschool to university.

This presentation will discuss priorities for police, fire, and EMS personnel as well as the need for integrated response. Last, lessons learned from several active shooter events will be discussed including, asymmetric perpetrator tactics, casualty collection points, marking the deceased, tactical breaching, responder liability, and much more. This lecture will discuss many of the lessons learned from the development, implementation, and testing integrated response protocol utilizing 75 large-scale exercises. This presentation is the culmination of more than 10,000 hours of research and cites more than 300 scholarly references. More than 40,000 public safety providers from local, state, and federal agencies have attended this training in the last two years.
