What You Can Do?

One Step At A Time

It starts with one. You can make a difference in your home, in your neighborhood, in your city, or in your state. Here are some websites that offer tips and steps you can take to cut your environmental impact. We all live on the same planet; let's make sure it's here for generations to come.

Buy Smaller

Time to buy a new car? Do the math and see what it'll cost you if gas hits, say, $5 a gallon in a few years. If you're like most Americans and drive about 20,000 miles a year, increasing your car's fuel efficiency by 10 MPG can save you over a thousand bucks a year - not to mention barrels of oil which contribute to global climate change.

The advice? Get the smallest, most efficient vehicle that makes sense for your daily driving. There are more shapes and sizes of fuel-efficient hybrids on the market every year. And, when you really do need that ginormous SUV for loading up the family and hauling the 24-foot cabin cruiser to the beach, rent it for two weeks. You'll still come out ahead!
