Industrial Systems Technology

Industrial Systems Technology fields offer some of the most rewarding career opportunities. The new Industrial System Technology (IST) program is a great way to prepare for these exciting careers in modern manufacturing technology.
Students who are interested in two year Applied Science degree (AAS) or four year degree in Engineering, Technology, and Drafting; or entry-level employment in modern industry this could be a successful career choice.
Students will cover major technology topics in Fluid Power, Blueprint/Drafting, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Robotics, Machinery, Programming Logic Control, Plastics, Properties of Material, CAD/CAM.
The IST program prepares students for jobs in machining, electronics, maintenance, design, automotive and many other manufacturing related fields.
Starting salaries of most machinists range between $18,000 and $28,000 per year, depending upon job location and individual competence.
The IST program leads to a Technical Certificate. Students will have an opportunity to upgrade their knowledge so that they may enter at an advanced level and continue to advance in the occupation.
The Certificate Program is specifically designed to train persons for entry-level positions in modern industry. Courses taken in the certificate program may be applied to an AAS degree in Integrated Systems Technology, General Technology, and Biomedical Electronics.
