Clearing the DNS cache in Windows XP
Sometimes the DNS (Domain Name Service) in Windows gets confused. Performing a quick cleaning of this service will help when you are having trouble connecting to a web site.
Click on Start, then Run. When the box comes open, type in CMD. This will give you a "DOS" window on your desktop. At the prompt, type the following: ipconfig / flushdns
once this complete (about 10 - 30 seconds), you can close the window. Try connecting to your web site again. If you are still unable to connect, try contacting either the web site company or your service provider to inform them of the issue.
