Cotter takes third at chess tournamentCOTTER — The Cotter chess team won third place at the Chess Association for
Arkansas Schools (CAAS) statewide chess tournament Saturday.
Cotter competed against 11 A-AA schools at Newport, one of several locations
around the state hosting tournaments, according to a press release. Cotter
earned 13.5 points out of a possible 20 and finished ahead of eight other teams.
Top players for Cotter were Jordan Crawford with 4-1 and Lucas Hickman with
3.5-1.5. Other team members competing on Saturday were Althea Abel, Tony
Bruzzichesi and Seth Kenney.
