Five to Seven Years of College (Master's Degree) (Graduate Degree)

Seven to Nine Years of College (PHD) (Graduate Degree)

A.A. Associate of Arts—a two-year college degree in the arts
A.A.S. Associate of Applied Science—a two-year college degree in the applied sciences
A.S. Associate of Science—a two-year college degree in the sciences or other applied areas of study
B.A. Bachelor of Arts—a four-year college degree in the arts
B.S. Bachelor of Science—a four-year college degree in the sciences or other applied areas of study
Certificate Certification for postsecondary training that could take up to two years
M.A. Master of Arts—a graduate degree in the arts awarded after two (or more) years of study after receiving a bachelor's degree.
M.S. Master of Science—a graduate degree in the sciences or other applied areas of study awarded after two (or more) years of study after receiving a bachelor's degree.
Ph.D. Doctor of Philosophy Degree—a graduate degree following the master's or bachelor's degree
