Important Information for Students Considering Web/Online Classes  

  1. The student MUST have completed the Blackboard Tutorial (provided through John Walsh).
  2. The student should attend Orientation for the Web class.

 

  1. Students not completing the Blackboard Tutorial will NOT be allowed to remain in the course

 

  1. The student MUST have a computer which will run Windows 98 or higher.

 

  1. The student MUST have correct textbook containing trial software.

 

  1. The student MUST have Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher.

 

  1. The student MUST have email.

 

  1. The student Must have good keyboarding—This is extremely important!  These courses can be very difficult without the prerequisites listed or extensive computer background experience.

 

  1. The student MUST have SimNet (purchased at the bookstore or same one used in previous word processing, spreadsheet, or database classes within last semester).

 

  1. The student needs to be self-disciplined and have the ability to set aside a certain time each week to devote to this class alone.

 

  1. This course does provide much flexibility; however, you should set aside at least 3 hours per week for the course work and check the course site daily for any announcements.

 

  1. The student MUST read and follow Syllabus and Contact information.

 

  1. The student MUST attend the online orientation. The orientation dates are listed on your schedule of classes. 

 

  1. This online course may have different starting and ending dates than the regular courses.  Details will be listed on the Instructor’s web site and in the online course announcements and course calendar.

 

  1. The same material will be covered in this course as in the traditional course offered in the classroom.
