Lena Boswell is the supervisor and tutor in the Writing Center.
Lena grew up in Indiana with seven brothers and four sisters. She graduated from Oakland City High School. She then attended Indiana State University at Terre Haute and got her BS degree in Music and English from Oakland City College, in Oakland City, Indiana. She took graduate work at Ball State University, Indiana University, Wayne State University, and earned her MS in education from the University of California, Long Beach, CA.
Before coming to Northark, she taught at Jasper, AR for seventeen years. She also taught public school in Tennessee, Michigan, and Indiana. In addition, Lena sold real estate in California for ten years and worked as a loan processor at Security Bank in Harrison for a year.
Lena is married and has two children, four grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
