Ms. Vance holds both a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business and Management from the University of Redlands, Redlands, California. And she holds an Associates of Arts degree in Liberal Arts from Crafton Hills College, Yucaipa, California. Ms. Vance has extensive experience developing and delivering courses online utilizing both WebCT and Blackboard.
Ms. Vance has over 24 years professional work experience in both the private and public sectors. Her academic teaching experience began in l999 at Central New Mexico (CNM) College formerly Albuquerque TVI Community College in Albuquerque, New Mexico, wherein she served as Department Chair for both the Business Administration and the Retail Management Program. As the Department Chair she was instrumental in developing effective Student Learning Outcomes Assessment tools. She was actively involved in the division's marketing efforts to promote the business programs. She assisted and participated in revamping, modifying, and revising the business curriculum to meet industry standards. Ms. Vance also served for two-years as the Secretary to the Faculty Senate. She also taught the following courses: Principles of Marketing, Advertising, Personal Selling, Principles of Management, Human Resource Management, Human Interpersonal Skills, Introduction to Business, Organizational Behavior, Strategic Planning, Theories of Leadership, Diversity in the Workplace, and Business Law.
Ms. Vance currently teaches in the Business and Technology Division, as a full-time faculty, at North Arkansas College in Harrison, Arkansas, and she is an Online Adjunct Faculty at Drury University and an Adjunct Faculty at Webster University. Ms. Vance possesses a plethora of knowledge in the areas of higher education, organizational leadership, management and supervision, strategic planning, human resources, finance/budgeting, marketing and general business practices.
She is the recipient of the National "Teaching Excellence Award" from the Association of Collegiate Business Schools Programs (ACBSP), and she has received numerous awards for "Excellence in Teaching." She also successfully orchestrated, coordinated, and assisted in the preparation of the ACBSP self-study accreditation report for the Business Program at CNM.
Ms. Vance's high energy and passion for academia is evident in the unique teaching style and methodology she uses both in the classroom and in her online courses. She is both a transformational and visionary leader, and as such, she always seeks for new and innovative ways to help students have a positive and lasting learning experience.
