Roy Ezell   Roy B. Ezell grew up in Harrison with one brother and one sister and graduated from Harrison High School.  His undergraduate degree is from Arkansas Tech University with a major in English.  He received his M.Ed from the University of Arkansas in Adult Education. He has worked at Northark as a lab supervisor, instructor or tutor since 1976.  He now teaches Grammar, Fundamentals of Composition Lab, College Reading Lab, and Math Lab.

"Northark has been a wonderful place to work all these years.  I especially enjoy the students and my assistants in the Learning Lab, as well as my fellow faculty members in the College Prep Department and the other faculty at the college. The biggest change since I have been here has been the move toward more and more use of computers.  But even with the increased use of technology in the classroom, this is still a people-oriented college as it should be.  I feel my purpose in being here is to help students in their first semester or two of college get off to a good start.  I try especially to help the students improve their English and reading skills enough to be successful in college-level courses or in life.  I like to make sure that every student achieves some success in their courses in the Learning Lab. Although my primary goal is to help the students learn the subject matter in the courses, I also want to help them in other ways to be better adjusted people."

Roy enjoys singing and is a member of the adult choir at First United Methodist Church in Harrison and a member of the Harrison community choir.  He also enjoys collecting recordings of old popular music (mostly on CDs now).  He particularly enjoys the music of the 1940s through the 1970s.  In his spare time, he likes to read books on literature, history, language, or religion.
