About Me !
EDUCATION:
I have a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Science degree from Southwest Missouri State University. My undergraduate work is in Mathematics and Music. My graduate work is in Mathematics with an emphasis in Statistics. I attended University of Central Arkansas and North Arkansas College as a part time student for three years before transferring to SMSU. After graduation I went straight to graduate school at SMSU as a graduate assistant for the math department. This involved teaching Beginning Algebra and Intermediate Algebra. It was a wonderful experience. I loved it and realized that I wanted to teach as a profession.
PROFESSIONAL:
I am an instructor of math at North Arkansas College. I teach Beginning Algebra, Intermediate Algebra, College Algebra, Statistics, and Calculus. I am on a committee at Northark called the Academic Assessment Team. We are currently working on several ways to assess our nine general education learning outcomes.
PERSONAL:
FAMILY
I have 2 wonderful children. My daughter, Tave', is 17 years old and my son, Taylor, is 13 years old. Tave' is a cheerleader at Harrison High School and Taylor plays basketball for Harrison Goblins and the AAU team Demilec Defenders. They are GREAT.
I have 2 brothers, Lon and Clay, who live only 75 miles from me. I have a sister in law named Jennifer who is married to Lon. She is wonderful. We love to shop!!! Clay has a girl friend so is not married yet. I try to visit them as often as I possibly can.
HOBBIES
Music is my main hobby, listening to music and playing the flute. I give private flute lessons which is a lot of fun. My children are involved in sports so I spend much time at the soccer field and gym. If I have any spare time I also like to roller blade, do aerobics, cook, and cross stitch.
