Ms. Finney received an Associate of Science degree from Cuesta College in San Luis Obisop, California, and a Bachelor of Science in Social Science from California State Polytechnic University, also in San Luis Obispo, California, where she graduated with highest honors. After moving to Arkansas, she completed the teacher education program at College of the Ozarks in Point Lookout, Missouri, and was licensed to teach secondary English and Social Studies in Missouri and Arkansas. Ms. Finney earned a Master of Education degree in secondary education at the University of Arkansas. She taught at Alpena High School for nearly twenty years before becoming a full-time instructor at Northark.
Since coming to Northark, Ms. Finney has taught English Composition I and II, History of Civilization I and II, U.S. History II, American National Government, Human Geography, Introduction to Economics, Introduction to Sociology, General Psychology,and Education Profession.
Ms. Finney's classes for Spring 2004 include Education Profession, M 6:00 p.m.; Education Technology, MWF 9:00; General Psychology (DL), MWF 1:30; and History of Western Civilization II (Honors), MWF 12:00.
Ms. Finney also coordinates the Education Program, advising education majors and working with transfer colleges.
