The public is invited to attend the 2024 State of Higher Education Breakfast sponsored by Wabash and hosted by the Harrison Regional Chamber of Commerce. The breakfast will be held on Thursday, September 5, 2024, in the John Paul Hammerschmidt Conference Room on Northark’s South Campus at 1515 Pioneer Drive in Harrison. Breakfast will begin at 7:30 a.m.
“We’re proud to host this breakfast designed to hear and talk about where we’re going with higher education and how we’re fueling the workforce,” Mike Nabors, Interim President/CEO of the Harrison Regional Chamber of Commerce said.
Higher education credentials increase access to job opportunities and provide increased earning potential and economic stability to individuals and businesses. This breakfast will highlight how education has evolved at Northark with particular attention to making a Northark education available to students wherever they may be located. Northark has strategically fostered a large population of high school students who feed the college’s enrollment while helping students save time and money by finishing quicker.
Northark’s President Dr. Rick Massengale will speak along with Harrison High School Superintendent Dr. Stewart Pratt about the benefits and challenges faced in preparing students for educational success and how both the high school and college have partnered to overcome those issues.
Business leaders will hear workforce news from Northark’s newly hired Vice President of Technical Education and Workforce Development, Dr. Ricky Tompkins. For those seeking new hobbies or expand their knowledge base on a variety of fun topics, the newly re-energized Continuing Education schedule of classes will be presented.
