Coach Hughes comes to North Arkansas College after coaching boys and girls high school soccer from 2017-2022 at Odessa High School in Odessa, Missouri. He started up the soccer programs for Odessa and will do the same in the NJCAA for Northark.
At Odessa, Coach Hughes led a boys team that had a single win in its first season to a 15-win conference championship team in its fifth season. Both the boys and girls teams have now been district semifinalists and are now legitimate contenders in their respective divisions.
As a student-athlete, Coach Hughes attended Bolivar High School in Missourif rom 2008-2012. While there, he and his team won 4 Soccer District Championships, 3 Sectional Championships, and was a state runner-up. He was also a two-time individual state medalist in wrestling. After high school, Coach Hughes accepted an NCAA Division 2 scholarship for wrestling at Colorado State University-Pueblo. While there he made two appearances at the NCAA Regional Tournament and was an Academic All-American.
