Jordan Hunter

Following the announcement of his father and mentor, Steve Hunter’s, retirement from the Pioneer bench, Jordan Hunter was named the Interim Head Men’s Basketball Coach of North Arkansas College in July of 2023. He initially joined the Pioneer Men’s Basketball program as an assistant coach in 2014.  After finishing a successful playing career at Ozark High School (MO) in 2005, Coach Hunter continued his basketball playing career collegiately at North Central Missouri College (NJCAA) and Westminster College (NCAA DIII).  As a player and a coach, he has always been a part of winning teams.

In addition to his role as the Northark Men’s Basketball Coach, Jordan also currently serves as the Assistant Athletic Director, Youth Basketball Camp Director, and as a full-time member of the Business Faculty.  For the past three years, he has also held the title of Region 2 Ambassador on the NJCAA Equity, Diversity, and Inclusiveness Council.

Over his nine seasons with Northark basketball, Coach Jordan has recruited four NJCAA All-American award winners, won two NJCAA DII Region 2 Championships and five runner-ups, helped place over 30 players at NCAA and NAIA institutions on scholarship, had dozens of NJCAA All-Academic team recipients, and has had countless players receive associate and bachelor degrees. During Coach Hunter’s time with the program, the Pioneers are 180-94.

Jordan has an MBA in Entrepreneurial Leadership from William Woods University, two Bachelor of Arts degrees (with honors) from Westminster College in Business Administration and Sports Management, an Associate of Arts degree from North Central Missouri College, as well as a diploma (Summa Cum Laude) from Ozark High School.
