Barn Quilt Painting

Instructor: Genie Allen

Paint a colorful barn quilt to hang on a shed or inside your home. Make a geometric quilt block painting on a 12”x12” wood panel; sketch out a design, choose a color scheme you like, and paint! We will use the classic Eight-Pointed Star, which has many beautiful variations.


Genie taught herself to sew as a child and is an avid reader and miniature maker. She studied costume design & art history at the U of A and has taught art, ESL, and science. She is a creative arts instructor, tutor, and Community Education Coordinator.

Oil Painting with Brenda

Instructor: Brenda Lawrence
Do you admire the landscapes of the late Bob Ross and would like to make an oil painting in his style? This class is perfect for both beginners and anyone wanting to improve their skills at landscape painting. Walk away with your own completed oil painting!

Brenda is a certified Bob Ross Instructor in landscape and florals; she is also a pet portrait artist and studied under Marion Dutton of England. She teaches landscapes, seascapes, and florals and loves western art.

Pet Portraits

Instructor: Grace Archer

Learn to create a portrait of your beloved furry friend! For this class, we will create pencil portraits of dogs and cats. No experience necessary! All supplies are included. Participants will have the opportunity to create a finished black and white portrait of a dog or a cat. Ages 14 and up (minors must have an adult present).

 

Grace Archer is a local artist, teacher, and farmer. She is an art education major, NAC alumni, and is currently working on her master's degree in fine art. She thinks that any opportunity to create is a valuable one!

Watercolor Landscapes

Instructor: Grace Archer

Experience the joy ofhand-creating a watercolor landscape. Learn to layer paint, select colors, and create natural textures like trees and stone. No art experience necessary! All supplies are included. Participants will have the opportunity to create a completed watercolor landscape. Ages 14 and up (minors must have an adult present).
