Jon Herbig has been named Head Coach of the North Arkansas College baseball program for what will be his 12th year coaching at the collegiate level.
Herbig also has coached at the SHO-ME Baseball Camp in Branson, Missouri for 10 summers since 2007.
He holds a M.Ed. in Athletic Coaching Leadership from the University of Rio Grande.
During his playing career, Herbig was a four-year starter at Spring Arbor University under collegiate Hall of Fame coach Sam Riggleman. Herbig played on teams that qualified for 2 NAIA World Series Tournaments, 1 NAIA Opening Round Appearance, and 2 NCCA national tournaments. His class would go down as the winningest class in program history on their way to winning 3 conference titles. In 2007, the Spring Arbor squad finished as the NAIA National Runners-Up in a season that also included a school-record-setting 36-game win streak. In 2008, he was part of a Spring Arbor team that finished 3rd place at the NAIA World Series. Herbig was also selected to the All-Tournament Team at the 2008 NAIA World Series.
He now joins the North Arkansas College community in Harrison with his wife, Neely, and their 2-year-old son, Rhys.
