Beginner Belly Dance

Instructor: Katie Gromlovits
Learn the beautiful art of belly dancing while adding grace, poise, strength, and balance to your daily life. We will go over basic posture and movements which are the foundations of this centuries-old art form. From swaying hips to graceful hand gestures, come celebrate the power and beauty of the feminine. Students are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing that allows movement, and a coin hip scarf is included.  

Katie is a local belly dancer with nearly two decades of experience teaching and performing. She enjoys sharing the beauty of dance with others. Katie finds belly dance great for fitness while offering a unique view into history, culture, music, and costuming.

Instructor: Tina Farmer
Get started on your family tree with this informative session on how to use online genealogy resources. Discuss software programs to record your family tree and learn about the genealogy resources that libraries offer to patrons. Uncover the valuable information contained in property deeds and federal land records to dig deeper into your family tree. 

Born and raised in the local area, Tina Farmer enjoys learning about our local history. She has enjoyed working as the genealogist at the Boone County Library for over 10 years where she solves family mysteries and acquires family tales.

Dutch Oven Cooking 101

Instructor: Chuck Landis 
Ever wanted to try cooking in a Dutch Oven? The best way to learn is by doing! Join Chuck as he demonstrates how fun & easy Dutch Oven cooking can be with the proper tools and know-how. Learn to cook biscuits, turkey pot pie, and a delicious fruit cobbler. This presentation will cover Dutch Oven sizes, how to estimate number of servings, temperature control, and the cleaning & storing of Dutch Ovens. This free class will be presented at Pioneer & Heritage Days, a festival held in Pioneer Park, just behind the public library in Berryville, Arkansas. Come on out and join the fun!
