High School Students

You Can Earn College Credits While Still Attending High School!

High school students who take college credit courses complete their degrees faster and save money. It is possible to earn your high school degree and a two-year associate degree from Northark at the same time.

Some courses are even taught at area high schools during school hours.

Articulated Credit

Articulated Credit allows high school students to receive college credit for secondary school courses that are similar in content and standards to North Arkansas College courses.

Concurrent Credit

Concurrent Credit allows high school students who are in grades nine trough twelve to enroll concurrently for college courses.

Northark Technical Center

The Northark Technical Center (NTC) is based on North Arkansas College’s North Campus and provides area high school juniors and seniors with the unique opportunity to earn college credit while still in high school.  The curriculum provides students with hands-on training in several technical fields.

The Center serves area high schools in Baxter, Boone, Carroll, Marion, Madison, Newton and Searcy counties.

Services are provided at no cost to students. Books, tuition and fees are provided through NTC and funded by a training fee paid by local school districts and funds provided through the Arkansas Department of Career Education.

The programs provided by NTC lead to a professional certification or a certificate of proficiency from North Arkansas College. NTC classes are credited for the student at both the high school and college level. Students can finish their NTC programs with as many as 30 college hours toward a higher degree or certification.

North Arkansas College is now an approved Course Choice Provider for Arkansas high-school students for AY 2026-27

Through the passage of the LEARNS Act, students in grades 6-12 across Arkansas have expanded access to courses beyond what their resident school may offer. As an approved provider, Northark offers eligible students the opportunity to enroll in select college-level courses via the state’s Course Choice program. Current approved high school-level courses include Quantitative Reasoning, General Psychology, and American National Government.

This means that if a high-school student’s school does not offer one of these courses, they now have the option to choose Northark as their provider, opening a pathway to earn college-level credit while still enrolled in high school. We will continue exploring additional offerings (for example: English Comp I &II, College Algebra) as demand arises.

We welcome inquiries from families, high-school counselors, and district administrators. Let NAC help expand student learning options, advance academic readiness, and provide meaningful college credit opportunities.
