
Following the announcement of his father and mentor, Steve Hunter’s, retirement from the Pioneer bench, Jordan Hunter was named the Head Men’s Basketball Coach of North Arkansas College in July of 2023. He initially joined the Pioneer Men’s Basketball program as the Assistant Coach in 2014. After finishing a successful playing career at Ozark High School (MO) in 2005, Coach Hunter continued his basketball playing career collegiately at North Central Missouri College (NJCAA) and Westminster College (NCAA DIII). As a player and a coach, he has always been a part of winning teams.
In addition to his role as the Northark Men’s Basketball Coach, Jordan also currently serves as the Assistant Athletic Director, Youth Basketball Camp Director, and as a full-time member of the Business/IT and HPER Faculty. For the past five years, he has also held the title of Region 2 Ambassador on the NJCAA Empowerment Council and is the current Chair/President of the Council.
Over his 11 seasons with Northark basketball, Coach Jordan has recruited five NJCAA All-American award winners, won three NJCAA DII Region 2 Championships and five runners-ups, helped place over 40 players at NCAA and NAIA institutions on scholarship, had dozens of NJCAA All-Academic team recipients, and has had over 70 players receive associate’s and/or bachelor’s degrees. During Coach Hunter’s time with the program, the Pioneers are 221-119 (65.00 winning %).
Jordan has an MBA in Entrepreneurial Leadership from William Woods University, two Bachelor of Arts degrees (with honors) from Westminster College in Business Administration and Sports Management, an Associate of Arts degree from North Central Missouri College, as well as a diploma (Summa Cum Laude) from Ozark High School.
