Where are you from? I am from Guatemala.
What degree/certificate are you getting? I am getting an associate's degree in education.
What interests you about your chosen field? I love helping people, and teaching is a way I can help people understand what they need to learn.
What is one thing you will never forget about your time at UA Northark? UA Northark is a place that truly cares about you. UA Northark is a place where not only the instructors, but your peers and the tutors are lifting you up, telling you that you can do it.
What challenges have you faced before or during your college career? Many challenges, to name a few, running on very little sleep and showing up hungry because you are oversleeping, but at UA Northark someone is always there looking after you, offering you a drink or snack. UA Northark does become like your second home where you know you belong.
What are you most proud of accomplishing? I am proud of knowing many staff from UA Northark lifted me up and helped me be the first member of my family to graduate from college.
How have you changed since your first day of college? I have changed my way of thinking. You don't have to stay silent you can voice your stress, and someone will help you.
What is one thing you wish you knew before starting college? I wish I would have known that being shy just makes you behind in your education. I really wish I would have become outspoken sooner so I could have reached my goals faster.
What is next after graduation? I am transferring to ATU and going for a bachelor’s in education.
What advice would you give to incoming students? Don't be scared to admit you are confused during a lecture or you are confused in an assignment. Don't wait to the last minute to ask for help. You will just waste your time if you do this and will regret it.
