Coach Phillips brings 25 years of coaching at high school, college, administration, and a tireless recruiter to the UA Northark Women’s Basketball Program.


 Coach Phillips brings over 350 wins as a high school and college coach. Coach Phillips led the Ecclesia College Lady Royals in 2024-2025 season to a NCCAA D1 Regional Championship Runner-Up in the Central Region. Before arriving at Ecclesia College the program was 10-65. Coach Phillips was the Head Women’s Basketball Coach at Crowley’s Ridge College from 2020-2023 and led the Lady Pioneers to 43-34 overall record and three consecutive conference tournament appearances and one national tournament appearance in 2020-2021. In 2021-2022 the Lady Pioneers finished with a 15-14 overall and broke the school record for wins in a season (15), CAC tournament final four and first winning season since 1984. In 2022-2023 the Lady Pioneers finished 18-10 overall, qualified for the CAC conference tournament, six game winning streak and broke the school record again for wins in a season (18) and highest winning percentage in school history.


Before Crowley’s Ridge College, Coach Phillips coached both Men’s and Women’s Basketball Teams at University of Arkansas Cossatot in Dequeen and lead them to 25 wins in the colts first year in NJCAA D2.


From 2018-2020 Coach Phillips restarted athletics at Southeastern Baptist College in Laurel, MS since 1980’s. As Athletic Director the Chargers joined NCCAA D2 and competed in the South Region. As Head Men’s Basketball Coach Phillips lead the Chargers to the Christian College National Invitational Tournament at Oakland City University in Oakland City, Indiana and also competed against NCAA Division 1 Southern Mississippi University.


One of Coach Phillips’ highlights coaching in the NJCAA was in 2014-2015 season at St. Cloud Tech CC. Coach Phillips led the Cyclones to a 18-9 school record and qualified for the Region 13 Tournament for the first time in school history. The Cyclones averaged 70 ppg in the MCAC South Conference.


Coach Phillips has coached at the High School, NCCAA, NAIA and Junior College Levels.  


As a player, Phillips played high school basketball at Maynard High School in Arkansas. He was a 2-time All-Conference and District Player. Phillips played college basketball at Crowley’s Ridge College (AR), Brown Mackie Junior College (KS) and former Ambassador University (TX). Coach Phillips currently attends Oak Grove Baptist Church.  


Coach Phillips currently holds a Bachelor’s degree from Williams Baptist College inWalnut Ridge, Arkansas and a Master’s degree from Emporia State University in Kansas. Coach Phillips currently attends Oak Grove Baptist Church in Attica, Arkansas.
