North Arkansas College of the University of Arkansas (UA Northark) has been named the 2026 Outstanding Education Partner by the Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship Fund (ASPSF), recognizing the college's longstanding commitment to supporting single-parent students as they pursue higher education and career opportunities.
The award will be presented during ASPSF's annual A Day of Hope luncheon on Sept. 18, 2026, at Next Level Events in Little Rock. The event celebrates students, alumni, organizations, and community partners who help single parents overcome barriers to education and achieve economic self-sufficiency.
UA Northark was selected for its ongoing partnership with ASPSF and its dedication to student success. The college has supported the organization through volunteer service, hosting scholarship interviews and award ceremonies, providing meeting space, and sponsoring ASPSF events.
"We are deeply honored to receive this recognition from the Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship Fund," said Chancellor Rick Massengale. "Single parents demonstrate remarkable determination as they balance family responsibilities, work, and education. We are committed to creating pathways for their success, and our partnership with ASPSF helps ensure these students have the support they need to achieve their educational goals and build brighter futures for themselves and their children."
ASPSF serves single parents across Arkansas by providing scholarships and support services designed to help them complete their education and move into higher-paying careers. Since 1990, the organization has awarded more than $50 million in scholarships and has impacted thousands of families throughout the state.
"Many of our students face significant challenges while pursuing their education," Massengale said. "Organizations like ASPSF make a tremendous difference by providing financial assistance, encouragement, and resources that help students stay on track to graduation."
Other 2026 Outstanding Partner Award recipients include Bank OZK, named Outstanding Community Partner, and Bailey Hutcheson of Mountain Home, who was recognized as Distinguished Alumna.
The annual A Day of Hope luncheon raises funds for ASPSF scholarships and services in 69 Arkansas counties and Bowie County, Texas. The event is presented by Tiger Correctional Services of Jonesboro.
